Diwali down the lane of 3 generations

A little girl and her group of friends , in a village near Tanjore are busy  collecting rations for preparing the snacks and sweets on eve of Deepavalli. They get oil , pans , wood for fire , flours , salt , sugar and under adult supervision(I hope so) prepare delicacies for their cooking game. Before day break, they have the auspicious oil bath and set out bursting crackers with no care for anyone passing by. They have a reputation for maintaining the person who burst max crackers.
She then moved to the city, but her zeal for bursting crackers didnt fade away. She used to fight with her brother in order to safegaurd her share. Breathing trouble would set in after all the bursting, but she was least worried.
The girl met her soulmate right across , married him and  were blessed with baby girl. The little one had the same passion for crackers like her mom. But the amount of crackers that were burst reduced. She used to spend weeks bursting the bijilis( small single pathaka). The mom and daughter pair spent time rubbishing the place. The father never liked the crackers , rather the sound of it. He used to shut himself in the home. Slowly, the little one grew up , got into college , then work. Her liking for crackers was getting replaced with the irritation of the decibel levels. She developed an inkling for  making chocolates and savories.
The little one was married off. She couldnt celebrate the Thala deepavalli much since she had  just delivered  born baby girl. Still she and her SIL managed to cover-up her front yard with papers.
The  grand-daughter is in her third year, she is going to witness her 3rd diwali this time. Looks like the cracker bursting  genes are present in her aswell. She is a bit afraid of them, but is going around shouting pathsu pathsu. Anna vedicha, papa bayandhpoitha.
You little girl, hoping next year you will have courage enough for holding the mathapu atleast!!

And if anyone is reading this post -  Happy Diwali.
This post is just a look at how Diwali had come through 3 generations .
