Rain musings

Scene: Sanja latest obsession is to draw draw color color draw draw color color atleast 10-15 pages a day. So she is busy drawing and finds that her pencil is not sharp enough. Here is how she got hold of a sharpener Sanja: Appa , appa , thruvan thariya S : !!!! apadina - (means?) Sanja: Adhan pa pencil thuruvardhu S: (smacks on head) you mena sharpner. Sanja: yes appa. We say thuruvardhu for coconut grating. She applied the same word for the sharpening her pencil. And guess what the actual tamil word for pencil sharpener is  vericil  thuruki(வி ரி சி ல்  து ரு கி  .). Wow that was  a close match.

-sadly neglecting the blog. :( -studying :) - having inner struggles  :( - seeing a baby gal grow up to a miss little lady :) - watching a little gals dream come true , seeing the happiness shine in her eyes :) -cooking :) -fighting with low self esteem, :( and still not winning over it. -trying to find a purpose in life  :| -lose weight and get back in shape :( :( -scolding the little one :( - health issues :(( -getting worse in maintaining family ties :(  [ After marriage I am noticing a decline in my interactions with my  paternal/maternal family] - disillusioned :( -understanding what love is when I wake up everyday to a small form sprawled next me and every time she utters "Amma" Inga vaye , paaren (Amma .. come here see this ). :) I see lots of :( than :)  which translates to admonishing myself for not living my life as I want or as I perceive it to be. Hopefully will WILL myself to blog more. I need some outlet . I have so many things to tell Sanja,

The lady of the house is back to reading books big time. Yesterday night she had the Mickey clubhouse  book series (some 12 of them) with her. She read each one of them, identifying things in each page. The book has the disney characters doing some stuff , going on trips, some animals , teaches colors ,shapes, etc.. etc... And so this is how madam read it out to me from one of the books where each one is preparing something for the party. Minnie and plate and mummam (food). Goofy and corns and clock.  ( the clock was in the background of the main pic). Daisy and pineapple Donald and lemons and clock. Mickey and red car and park. Then she proceeds to ask me to identfy shapes. Each correct answer evokes a "Coooooorect ' and claps from her ;).  Oh and she counts from 1 to 20  but always skips 12 . she tells all the alphabets A to Z and skips U. Each time she is consistent in missing 12 and U. When askes she replies- Oh , I dont like them , so I wont say them . T

is done to Thank Sun omachi. He gives us Arusi (Rice), pappu(Pulses), goutumai.  (wheat).  - Says Sanja . Her aunty at school makes it a point to tell stories / heads up on each festival. Sanja explained what is pongal. She wanted to know why is Bhogi celebrated. Here is what I came up with. We burn old papers/ sleeping mats / brooms etc to signify that we want to burn all our past wrong doings.  And  to use it  for our own betterment (;)), I asked her what bad habit is she going to burn away. We have decided we wont cry when we get up in the morning. She will get up everyday with smile and laughter.  And for past 3 days , she is keeping it up :). kala tikka .

I would like Sanja to read about some people , family members she hasnt seen and also remember the days she spent with those she is living with.  Some of these people are the ones I had best times with.  Shall start posting incidents , thoughts on them as and when possible.

The ending of 2011 - The year it was - Okay with many ups and downs . Ups: Sanja started school. She is learning new stuffs good and some not so good stuff. But the very good stuff overweigh the not-so good stuff. I am back to studying. S business slowly picking up . Were able to take vacation twice - to Munnar and Goa. Part payment of home loans. Experimenting with dishes at home. Gaining confidence that I can whip up anything. I  can actually make delicious food. Downs: Work -life balance gone for a toss since now I have to accomodate studies in it. Financial constraints since S busines is yet to make turnovers. Personally, had a short fuse on temper. Need to grow up and leave behind some childish-ness in me. Sanja is still adjusting to school life- the year saw continuous sickness  average of  a fever per month.
