The school life begins

On Monday, Sanja household  got up early bright and shiny. The little princess starts her school. Two sets of grandparents , her mother, father, chitappa accompanied her to school. While she went of to her Environment ( class ) , the elderly went to school temple and then sat in shade eating the chakara pongal and sipping the tea. Amma went to get the kiddo at 11:45 am and all of us were back home at 12:15pm.

Amma / appa/ etc..etc: So Sanja what did u do today, what play things are there ?
Sanja: Oh there are the building blocks , kitchen set, beads , koozhal kalu(a smooth polished stone).. I played with building blocks and kitchen set.

Another uncle asks: So what did they give you to eat Sanja

(This she made it up .. she wasnt given anything to eat at school. So amma appa are wondering if the above said koozhal kalu is also made up as we havent shown her that kind of stones.)

The next day Sanja with amma and appa goes to school. Jumps out of the school bus and goes away to her class with the school boy on duty.
Amma being amma goes to her rteacher ( who happens to be the School Education officer) and talks

Me: Hello Miss. S , Good morning,
S: Hi V, So how is  your gal taking it.
Me: Oh , she is super happy , getting ready and asking us to wait at the school bus stop even though it is early.
S: So she is like her mother eh..
Me: So how will we know her Aunty name.
S: Oh be patient she will tell you the name in month's time
Me: Ah and she said  kuzan kalu isthere in her class.
S: Oh yes they are there. I see she has started playing.
Me: Ah,, yes yes, just that she made that chapati thing and we were wondering if she made up this one too.

On the third day we were there at her school
while most of kids started crying on seeing the school campus. Sanja alone was dancing and singing - Jolly jolly school vandhuchu (we have reached the school).
And she played the building blocks in shapes of square , triangle and circle it seems .

Today  Sanja alone boarded the bus while we stayed back and waved our good byes.
She is pretty cool about this travelling. Her grandparents are worried she has to travel for 20 minutes but we know the school for its excellent care for kids.


Here she is getting ready for her first day school.

Sanja turns into mother hen !! Yesterday night we (S, mil, fil , sil , sanja , kicha ( sil's almost 2 month old son)) were having some discussion in the hall. My thoughtful daughter

Sanja had been to a wedding yesterday with her maternal grandparents. She had a great time playing my father's friend 's grandkids.  She behaved like a very good girl and ate without much fuss. The curds were served in Matkas (small earthern cups). Sanja at once declared that she will take her cup back home for her mother. She made granny clean it up and took hold of it as priced possession. When everyone asked her why she is taking it with her , her reply  Amma paint panuva, papa amma ku kuduka poren. (Amma will paint it, Iam going to give it to her) . The background , she saw me painting the Diyas for Karthigai deepam this wednesday. She kept asking me Amma , painting pannare ya ma (Amma are you painting). and remembered to get that earthern pot fo me . Ahhh, gal, I learnt from you today, though the gifts can be small, they will be priceless when given with sooooo much of love.  Hugs to you Darling !!
