Sanja gets her school admission

Sanja will be going to the same school I had attended. Since I did most of my schooling there, teacher's who have been there since then are still working and were pleasantly surprised that Kutti vz is also going to do the honours.

Yesterday, Feb 14th we had the admission formalities completed. Sanja starts school this JUNE 28 ( my baby has grown up..).
8:40 AM: sanja is all set to go for the school visit. She brings along her Pink Dora .
9:15 AM:  Appa and amma are filling up forms, Sanja for her part contributes by scribbling in a paper.
9:45 AM: She knows she is wasting the open space and decides to run around with her mom playing catch catch.
10:15AM: Sanja: Amma ,can we meet D, B,R . They are here only right.(Here friends in our locality study here).
Amma: You ask that teacher inside for the permission.
Sanja goes all silent.
Then Amma pacifies - D has gone to the sports complex for swimming. So we wont be able to meet.
Sanja: Okay amma, we will go to New Colony(our home) tell D aunty that I went to school .

10:30 AM: We meet the education officer (who happens to be my 4th std English teacher. ).
Teacher says:- Ah V !! What a surprise ,,good to see you have put ur daughter here. We will take good care of her. You know about your school. So she talks about me to Mr. S.   Sanja is all shy shy when her teacher says we will call you "Kutti V".
10:45 AM:  We wait in the library for receiving the fee receipt. Snacks and Tea are supplied.
Sanja - Ennaku snacks thango.. apuchi sapiduven...
So she is happily eating away . then she sees BOOKS .
Sanja: Amma , naan poi book eduthukatha amma (Mom, can I take some books)
Amma:  Nee big annavudane inga book edhukalam( When you are big enough you can take the books from here).
Sanja: Amma, naan kutti la, kutti book eduthukatha (Amma , Iam small , can I take a small book).
Amma: !!
The other kids who came for admission where either crying  or falling down. And here she was all enthu to read books !! .
Things have changed I see - boys are the latest cry babies. I saw 2 boys crying while all the gals were goody good.
PS: Her grandmother was disappointed that  Sanja appa didnt get interviewed ( in the context of the movie Abhiyum nanum). Her comment - vangara paisa ku rendu question adhu kethurkalam ,, humph

Sanja turns into mother hen !! Yesterday night we (S, mil, fil , sil , sanja , kicha ( sil's almost 2 month old son)) were having some discussion in the hall. S went to get the fruits for the night-banana. Sanja doesn't eat them, she is in borderline of whether to taste it or not and mostly gives up the banana. My thoughtful daughter

Sanja had been to a wedding yesterday with her maternal grandparents. She had a great time playing my father's friend 's grandkids.  She behaved like a very good girl and ate without much fuss. The curds were served in Matkas (small earthern cups). Sanja at once declared that she will take her cup back home for her mother. She made granny clean it up and took hold of it as priced possession. When everyone asked her why she is taking it with her , her reply  Amma paint panuva, papa amma ku kuduka poren. (Amma will paint it, Iam going to give it to her) . The background , she saw me painting the Diyas for Karthigai deepam this wednesday. She kept asking me Amma , painting pannare ya ma (Amma are you painting). and remembered to get that earthern pot fo me . Ahhh, gal, I learnt from you today, though the gifts can be small, they will be priceless when given with sooooo much of love.  Hugs to you Darling !!
